Real Work Practice

Guidelines & Rules for Implementing Real Work Practices

 

1. General requirements

  1. Real Work Practices are work practices programs in companies / industries / agencies as SKS burdens that must be followed by students in the Department of Information Engineering to supplement the theoretical knowledge gained on the lecture bench.
  2. The amount of Real Work Practices credit is 2 credits (referring to the 2012 curriculum).
  3. Real Work Practices can be done if it has taken at least 90 SKS.
  4. Real Work Practices can be done individually or in groups of up to 4 people.
  5. Real Work Practices is carried out on companies / industries / institutions in accordance with the chosen field of expertise of the student concerned with the approval of the department through the PKN Coordinator.
  6. Real Work Practices is conducted for at least one full month.
  7. Submitting Real Work Practices can be done before taking the PKN program on the Study Plan Card.

 

2. Real Work Practice Place

  1. Real Work Practice place is chosen by the Student upon the approval of the department through the PKN Coordinator.
  2. Real Work Practice places are considered appropriate if in accordance with the chosen field of expertise of students.
  3. The place for Real Work Practice places can be in companies, industries or institutions.

 

3. Implementation of Real Work Practices

  1. During the implementation of Real Work Practice, students are guided by Field Guides from companies / industries / institutions that have been appointed. If needed, the Real Work Practice coordinator can appoint a supervisor from the Study Program.
  2. All regulations regarding work carried out during the Real Work Practice process, in accordance with the regulations in force in the company / industry / institution.
  3. If the implementation of Real Work Practice coincides with the time of lecture, then students who carry out Real Work Practice are required to provide information to the department (Real Work Practice coordinator) to apply for a lecture permit during the Real Work Practice. If students do not confirm until the Real Work Practice ends, then the absence of students in class is considered negligent.
  4. During the implementation of the Real Work Practice, students are required to fill out a daily Real Work Practice report (log book).).

 

4. Assessment of Real Work Practices

  1. The final assessment for Real Work Practice is the total number of company evaluations and assessments by examiners, with a composition of 60% evaluations from companies, and 40% evaluations from examiners.
  2. The composition of the assessment for the PKN exam :
    • The level of success or understanding of students regarding the assignments made: 40%.
    • Report writing: 20%.
    • Liveliness: 40%.

 

5. Real Work Practice Report Writing Format

  1. The Real Work Practice report uses the A5 paper format, using 1 space.
  2. The numbering rules for each page are written in the horizontal center format and placed in the footer.
  3. The rules for writing Real Work Practice report content use justify alignment.
  4. Page numbering
    • Numbering for Validation Sheet, Approval Sheet, Preface, Table of contents, Tables, and List of Images, using roman numerals starting with roman numerals 1.
    • Numbering for report content (starting in chapters 1 to the end), using Latin numbers.
    • Page numbering is placed in the footer with justify alignment format.
  5. Real Work Practice report writing follows the rules as follows:
    • For Validation Sheet, Approval Sheet, Preface, Table of contents, Table of Lists, and List of Figures must start from the front page (no. Odd pages).
    • For the title of each chapter must start from the front page (no. Odd pages).
  6. Font and size
    • All fonts in the Real Work Practice report use the Times New Roman font
    • Font size for the front cover: 12
    • Font size for the title of each page: 12
    • Font size for the title of each chapter: 12
    • Font size for contents: 11
  7. The numbering rules for each page are written in the horizontal center format and placed in the footer. The contents of the Real Work Practice report are as follows:
    • Title page, Endorsement Sheet (from department heads and Real Work Practice coordinators), Company / industry / institution Approval Sheet (from field supervisor), Approval Sheet (from examiners) Preface, Table of contents, List of tables, List of pictures.
    • Chapter I Introduction
    • Chapter II General Overview of Companies / Industries / Institutions
    • Chapter III Basic Theory
    • Chapter IV Discussion of Real Work Practices
    • Chapter V Closing
    • Bibliography. and Appendices
  8. The report CD cover contains the report title, University logo, and the Student's NIM and Name. Download Cover CD

 

6. Rules and Sanctions

  1. Collecting PKN reports that exceed the time limit (maximum 6 months after the implementation of the Real Work Practices), is REQUIRED to re-implement Real Work Practices.
  2. Delay in submitting a letter of reply to the approval of the implementation of Real Work Practices from companies / industries / institutions without confirmation, resulting in the implementation of Real Work Practices invalid and required to carry out repeated Real Work Practices.
  3. Implementation of guidance with a supervisor is done at least 3 times face to face.
